The History of the 'Shoe

The Horseshoe Pub building has a long history in Hudson. It was built by F.D. Brigham in 1832 and occupied the lot next to the Town Hall on Main Street. The building was moved before 1880 to its current location at 29 South St. It became the property of H.H. Mawhinney and Co., later Logan Shoe Co.

In 1980, the building was taken over by the Horseshoe Pub and Restaurant. The name was the result of one of the business partners being in the harness racing business. In 1984, the Pizzimento family bought out the partner. Nick and Paula Pizzimento now operate the business.

For website visitors, Horseshoe Pub and Restaurant offers a special e-coupon. Print it out and get it stamped each time you order a sandwich. After five sandwiches, you get the sixth one free.

Hudson is fast becoming known as a dining destination. The Horseshoe Pub and Restaurant holds bragging rights to being among the first of restaurants to hit the ground running.
